The Case of Atlantis is an artist residency program dedicated to artistic projects inspired, based-on or questioning the myths that surround Atlantis, and the ideia that Azores islands may be the peaks remaining from such civilization.

- opening event at Madalena Auditorium & Library
- Artistic Director Terry Costa welcome presentation
- Pedro Almeida Maia (book written in Azores that touches Atlantis subject; presentation of TV series idea)
- Pyramids / Maroiços, Relheiras & Other potential Civilizations prior to the Portuguese arrival? (guest speakers)
- Dinner (artists present themselves)
saturday
- 8:30am Trip: MiratecArts Galeria Costa (place of art development in nature); Maroiço Pyramid & Possible Burial Spot of Other Civilizations; The Maroiços Square;
- Lunch
- Afternoon visit to Gruta das Torres, the largest cave lavic tube in all of Portugal (we will only do a couple hundred metres); mountain-house view visit;
- Dinner with potential project ideias sharing
sunday
- morning: studio time or re-visit MiratecArts Galeria Costa, or visit Wine Museum in Madalena
- afternoon: Visit Centre of Interpretation of the Culture of the Vineyards of Pico; Volcano House; Relheiras;
- Introspective Gathering; Ideas in Development;
- Dinner
All food and drinks are paid by each participant directly to the establishments; we encourage you carry cash as some places do not use charge cards.
Accepted ARTISTS PROPOSALS will receive the weekend accomodations and programming by MiratecArts. Limited spaces available.
