It’s been quite a year for the 2010 winner of Vancouver’s Gay Top Model Fraser Barke.  He has gone from obscurity to the cover of magazines, TV, the runway, and is working  with top agencies and traveling around the world.

In winning the competition Barke was guaranteed an entry agreement with  I Model Management, which led to signing multiple agreements with other agencies to represent him in various markets. Summer in Toronto was busy fun for our Top Model winner where he played Jully Black's helper in a segment for CTV’s E-Talk, shot for The Bay catalogue as well print and television ads for Hakim Optical.

Next stop was runway appearances at New York Fashion Week before going to Miami to work with Wilhelmina Models and shoot for Harry Rosen. A quick visit to Antigua to shoot for Sandals Hotel and, a short stop in California got Fraser a new look before he heads off to China for a 3-month stint with Baystar Models.

Fraser is also busy learning Italian as he signed his first European placement with Boom Agency in Milan, where he will be spending next summer.

Fraser was part of a photo shoot for the HAKIM OPTICAL print campaign and he is also in the television commercial.

This Fall you can see Fraser B in a print campaign/catalog for The Bay as well as Hakim Optical print ADS and  television commercial. Fraser just completed the New York Fashion Week and now is headed to Miami to work with Wihelmina Models. In his spare time, Fraser is learning Italian language as he signed his first European agency placement with Boom Agency  in Milan, Italy; continuing to build his USA representation through the mother agency, I Model Management (Calgary), Fraser is also represented by The Agency (Arizona), Bleu Models (LA) and Heffner Agency (Seattle). This month of September you can see him in OFF THE MAP magazine, a fashion spread by photographer Alice Xue, and on the cover of FANTASTICSMAG with a fashion spread by Toronto's photographer Regen Chen (photo here).

Summer in Toronto has been busy fun for our Top Model winner; Fraser played Jully Black's helper in a segment for E-Talk (CTV) and will soon grace the pages of catalogues for The Bay as well as Wallmart and print ads for Hakim Optical. Next stop is New York City where Fraser will meet his Eastern USA representatives at Q Models followed by Wilhelmina Models in Miami. As the winner of Gay Top Model 2010, Fraser signed a modeling agency contract with Canada's I Model Management which is now giving him these great opportunities to shine. "Everything still seems so surreal – the phone calls, emails, texts, BBMs and Facebook notifications continue to flood my poor, water-logged phone. Winning the title of “Gay Top Model 2010” came as a pleasant surprise to me. All I can really remember after the announcement is flashing from cameras, people hugging me, and a lot of noise. I kept asking myself if I had heard the name correctly because everything was happening so fast. I was so overwhelmed that I just wanted to run off the stage and sit down somewhere quiet to digest what was going on.

The whole Gay Top Model experience has been an amazing one; meeting a ton of new people was one of the main reasons I did this project, but when I learned that it was a fundraiser for a great organization, I was extremely proud to be apart of it. All of the guys who I was with for the past three months made the journey so memorable and enjoyable for me. I am honored to be the Gay Top Model 2010 and can’t wait to see what the future brings me! Bring it on, fashion world. Bring it on."

Prior to winning the title of GAY TOP MODEL 2010, Fraser also won the bon bon Bodywear award (photo by TJ Ngan), the coverboy award (to be on the cover of Charlie David's novel Shadowlands), as well as the Double-Take2 Photogenic Award (with photographer Nicholas Jang) - what a night!

Sports, the official theme by Fraser

The official theme photo shoot for this competition had me very nervous; we had to bring props that went with the sport we chose. Mine was boxing - easy, right? I chose boxing because I box everyday to keep in shape and it's a pretty easy costume to create. We were asked to be video taped doing various exercises, which was new for me, kind of awkward as well. Doing push-ups as someone takes video isn't an everyday occurrence for me. The actual photo shoot itself was also a new experience. It's really hard to ‘act mean' in front of a camera, especially when you aren't really a mean person to begin with! After the four hours I had spent waiting, photographed and videotaped I was exhausted and starving, but I had learned a lot and became quite comfortable with the camera.
