Once upon a time... Joujou Turenne was born in Haiti. It was there that she first embrased the sun. Later on in life, she was able to create her first snowmen in Montreal (Quebec, Canada). Some mold the clay - Joujou molds the word. She thinks, sees and vibrates to the rhythm of this planet which sometimes makes you laugh, sometimes makes you reflect, but never stops her from traveling like the wind... from Yukon to the Antilles, Halifax to Vancouver, Europe and Africa, her stories pulse in the hearts of its listeners.
Inspired by her African heritage, her Caribbean parents, the thousand textures of Quebec which she calls home and the four corners of the wide world she travels, Joujou, Friend of the Wind, speaks from the heart—heartfelt words that sing and sway to the beat of our planet. In the language of love, peace, friendship, hope and freedom, she SPREADS HER VOICE to the Wind. Actor, choreographer and storyteller, she uses gesture and voice to transform into different characters that appear in a swirl of poetry, story, rhythm, song, laughter, and sighs. And the moment she begins to speak, we all become part of the story.
To help with healing, or for pleasure, Joujou Turenne offers workshops and tells stories with a taste of creativity for the general public as well as for persons with behavioural problems or multiple disabilities.
At the end…Anytime is storytime!
